The denim gives them structure that softer fabrics cannot, so they hold their shape through a full day rather than going baggy by noon. We love them belted with a fitted top, or worn loose with a cropped knit when you want the volume to do the work. They sit at that useful point between casual and intentional, dressed down enough for real life but considered enough that you look like you meant it. The key is the fit around the thigh.
