The elastic waist gets underestimated constantly and we think that’s a mistake. A well made A line skirt with a proper elasticated waist sits cleanly on the body, moves without fuss, and looks just as intentional as anything with a zip. The difference between a good one and a bad one is mostly in the fabric weight and the cut of the flare. Too light and it clings where it shouldn’t. Too stiff and it adds bulk you didn’t ask for. Get it right and you have a skirt you’ll reach for on days when you want to look put together without spending any real effort on it.

We’ve been pulling together the ones that sit exactly where they should, just at or slightly above the natural waist, with enough flare to feel feminine but not so much that you’re wearing a tent. These work with everything. A simple top, a tucked in blouse, a fitted knit. Dressed up or kept casual.

The elastic waist is not a compromise. It is just a better way to get dressed.
