Cotton does something no other fabric quite manages: it breathes in August and layers beautifully in November without complaining either way. That versatility is exactly why a well chosen long sleeve cotton dress is one of the most genuinely useful things you can own. Not useful in a boring sense. Useful in the sense that you reach for it constantly and it always delivers.

We’ve been curating these with real year round wearability in mind. Spring means wearing them alone with trainers or sandals. Autumn means adding a chunky knit or a tailored coat over the top. What we look for is good weight cotton that doesn’t go limp after washing, a cut that has actual shape rather than hanging like a bag, and colours and prints that earn their place.
